Smashed Potatoes with Cheese, Chives and Bacom Bits

We gave the smashed potato trend a try– but added some key ingredients. These smashed potatoes are topped with shredded cheese, chives and– of course– Hanley’s Bacom Bits. A delicious game day snack or fun party appetizer– these are sure to satiate a salty snack craving.

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Bring a pot of water to a boil and add red potatoes
  2. Boil potatoes for 20 minutes
  3. Preheat your oven to 400 Degrees Fahrenheit
  4. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and drizzle with olive oil
  5. Add potatoes to the lined baking sheet and use a mason jar to smash the potatoes, flattening them
  6. Season with salt
  7. Bake potatoes at 400 Degrees Fahrenheit for about 10-15 minutes, adding shredded cheese to each potato for the last 4-5 minutes
  8. Remove the potatoes from the oven and top with chives and Hanely’s Bacom Bits
  9. Enjoy, snap a photo and tag @HanleysFoods on Instagram

Prep time: 10 minutes
Total time: 45 minutes
Serves: 1-6 people
Pro Tip: Test your potatoes to ensure they are fully cooked after boiling. It will make “smashing” the potatoes incredibly tricky if they aren’t already soft and fully cooked. Boiling them for 20 minutes should guarantee that they’re ready to be smashed.
